Whittemore, MI - The marquee event of the year at Whittemore Speedway is Saturday night as Outlaw Super Late Models make their only appearance of 2026 for the Tom Rosebrugh Memorial Growler 100.
Now in its 15th running, the Growler 100 honors the life of Tom Rosebrugh, a 2017 inductee into the Michigan Motorsports Hall of Fame. He won a total of five track championships at Merritt Speedway, Auto City Speedway, Whittemore Speedway, and Standish Speedway while winning features in five different decades on both dirt and asphalt.
The race was first run in 2011 at Birch Run Speedway, won by Tim Felver. It then moved to Whittemore the next year, the facility the event has called home for most of its existence. The Growler was held at Onaway Speedway for two years before returning to Whittemore in 2024.
Defending race winner Jason Felver leads the list of drivers entered for Saturday’s Growler 100. Blake Childers and Phil Bozell are the two other former race winners scheduled to be in attendance at Whittemore.
A strong list of drivers are in search of their first Growler 100 wins, including three-time Reveal The Hammer champion Steve Needles, defending Owosso 500 Series champion Dan Leeck, multi-time Owosso Speedway winner Chad Finley, and CRA Pro Series Whittemore winner Steven Ulman. Grandson of Tom Rosebrugh, Chase Rosebrugh looks to join father Todd as a winner of the family race.
The Outlaw Super Late Models will be joined by the Outlaw 350 Supermodified Series for a show featuring both fenders and open wheel cars.
Open practice will be held on Friday night before raceday on Saturday. Grandstand gates open at 5:00, with qualifying at 5:15 and the first green flag at 7:00. More information can be found at www.thewhittemorespeedway.org or on Facebook.
