Ovid, MI - With the conclusion of the Owosso Nationals, the 2026 season at Owosso Speedway has come to an end.  Six weekly divisions and the Owosso 500 Series crowned champions in the fourth year under the ownership of Rex Wheeler.

The Owosso 500 Series was decided this past Saturday during Owosso Nationals.  Three-time winner in 2026, Blake Childers was on his way to the championship when he blew an engine with less than 25 laps to go, handing the championship to Chase Rosebrugh.  While he didn’t win a race at Owosso, he finished no worse than 4th as consistency led to his first Owosso championship.

The Modified division saw David McManus win his second consecutive Modified track championship at Owosso to go along with a championship at Birch Run Speedway.  McManus won five of the eight features during the season, including the Modified portion of the Bob Finley Memorial.  On another note, Trevor Berry won the Michigan Modified Series championship, a five-race miniseries held at Owosso and Berlin Raceway.

Jack Attack Racing swept the top three spots in the final Late Model Sportsman points standings for the second year in a row, with father Brent Jack winning his second straight track championship over sons Tanner and Hunter.  He won two features while the family claimed four of six points-paying features over the course of the season.

The Street Stocks saw the closest points battle out of the weekly divisions, with just four races to grab as many points as drivers could.  Gabe Carr prevailed in the final standings over Bobby Stremme, who finished runner-up in the standings for the second straight year.  Carr’s one win came during the Owosso Nationals, as three top-fives in the four races were enough to clinch his first track championship.

Lonnie Saumier clinched yet another Pure Stock track championship at Owosso on the strength of three wins in the four points races.  He ended the season with a fourth win in the Owosso Nationals while also finishing in the top-five in Modified points.

One win in five-point races was enough to give Mark Wilcox the Truck Series track championship after finishing second in 2025.  He also added a win during Owosso Nationals to go along with his win on June 20.

Randy Moore joined David McManus in the back-to-back club by winning his second consecutive Sport Compact track championship over 2024 champion Damian Watters.  He followed the blueprint of Wilcox, winning one points-paying feature while also ending the season with an Owosso Nationals victory.
