Attica, OH - What some are calling a false spring in the Midwest, has race fans, drivers, and track crews alike, all thrashing and preparing for the upcoming 2026 season. Perhaps no one is preparing harder than those who plan to race at Attica Raceway Park (ARP). The Northern Ohio dirt track historically is one of the first in the region to swing the gates open on a new season, taking a chance that Mother Nature will bless us with an early and dry spring, allowing racing by mid-March.
The 2026 schedule for ARP is no exception to that tradition. Announced on January 14th, the season opener is slated for Friday, March 13th, featuring DIRTcar UMP Late Models, 410 Winged Sprint Cars, and 305 Winged Sprint Cars - a standard Friday night lineup. The race has no rain date, and is viewed as a chance to try to sneak in some extra shows before the heart of the season.
In fact, the first four weeks of the season are setup to be "bonus" shows for ARP. March 13th is a complete crapshoot, with a Friday or nothing at all setup. Then, on Friday, March 27th, Saturday rain dates are brought into the equation in an effort to accomplish some local racing before the "big shows" and the sanctioning bodies come to town, staring with the All Star Circuit of Champions on Friday and Saturday, April 10th and 11th for the Spring Nationals.
If things go to plan on Friday, March 13th, ARP will open the gates at 5:00 PM, with racing set to begin at 7:45 PM. Again, no Saturday rain date for the first week. If Friday, March 27th's show goes sideways, gates will open at 2:00 PM on Saturday with racing at 5:00 PM. For more information on Attica Raceway Park, visit AtticaRacewayPark.com.
