CLIO, MI - On December 12th, 2025, Auto City Speedway & Outdoor Event Center suffered a massive fire at their facility. The main office and ticket building, which housed vital systems like scoreboard, communication, and lighting operations, was essentially burnt to the ground. In the time that followed the fire, the community rallied around the Speedway and DeWitt family.

A day after the fire, the Speedway posted via Facebook that they would rebuild, thanks to the support and encouragement of the racing community. Now, on Friday, January 30th, they've posted another positive outlook for the race track outside of Flint, MI.

"We are working tirelessly behind the scenes to get everything back together. Rebuilding a 70-year-old landmark isn't easy, but we are committed to making it happen." - Auto City Facebook

The update went on to say that the team is pushing ahead to be fully operational for a season opener in May, but noted that they are already hosting events despite the damage. They say they recently hosted an SCCA Rally Cross season opener.

The post, signed by Joe and Sharon DeWitt, thanked readers for their prayers and support as they continue to navigate the rebuilding process.
