FLAT ROCK, MI - After an early-season rainout, the Joy Fair Memorial 100 at Flat Rock Speedway brought out a field of Outlaw Super Late Models along with a stellar list of pilots. The sunset show provided some tense moments and a surprise push to the front of the field for the win.

Slated for 100 laps around the 1/4 mile pavement oval, 20 cars took the starting line with Conner Zbozien, the 2024 Outlaw Track Champion at Flat Rock, setting the fastest qualifying time for the day. Top 10 qualifying results below, per MyRacePass:

  1. Conner Zbozien - 11.001

  2. Eric Lee - 11.019

  3. Kyle Drake - 11.179

  4. Paul Pelletier - 11.206

  5. Scott Hantz - 11.251

Early in the race, it was a fight for control until lap 28, when Lenny Roberts's vehicle flipped, bringing out the red flag. The premier safety team at Flat Rock Speedway controlled the scene quickly, safely turning the vehicle over, allowing Roberts to be assisted in removing himself from the vehicle. After being assessed by EMS, Roberts returned to the outside track wall to finish the race, albeit not in his preferred viewing spot.

MARC News can confirm he was in well enough spirits for a fist-bump while walking up to the outside wall post-assessment.

The remaining laps brought out a few, quickly resolved yellows, yielding 5 more retirements from the race: Chris Benson, Brian Bergakker, Derrick Sheppard, Harold Fair Jr., Max Fair.

The back half of the Joy Fair Memorial 100 was an up-front battle with Blake Childers and his #33 machine maintaining most of the control. That is, until on-track skirmishes turned into real-time position losses. That’s when Kyle Crump, running midpack, took advantage of key moments to push himself to the number 1 position when it mattered most, as the checkered flag flew.

Childers held on to his strong race positioning by finishing 2. Eric Lee, who started 8th after redraw, finished 3rd, closely followed by Zbozien in 4th.
