FISHERS, Ind. – AP Driver Development announced today that veteran open-wheel driver Darin Nadia will drive the Sam Pierce Chevrolet / Vern’s / Zaki Ali / G&G Race Fuels No. 26 Silver Crown car this Sunday at the Terre Haute Action Track for the USAC Silver Crown National Championship event.
Nadia brings an extensive background in winged dirt open-wheel racing to the AP Driver Development program. Darin's Chili Bowl soup run is what first got the attention of AP Driver Development, and his consistency and adaptability make him a strong fit for the challenging half-mile at Terre Haute.
“Darin’s experience in high-horsepower dirt cars and his race craft on slick, technical tracks is exactly what we were looking for in the 26 car,” said a team spokesperson for AP Driver Development. “Terre Haute demands throttle control and patience, and his background in winged sprints translates well. We think he’ll be a great fit for our Silver Crown program starting this weekend.”
The Terre Haute event marks Nadia’s USAC Silver Crown debut with the team. AP Driver Development also confirmed plans to field Nadia in the Sam Pierce Chevrolet / Vern’s / Zaki Ali / G&G Race Fuels No. 26 at Eldora Speedway later this season.
Sunday’s USAC Silver Crown race at Terre Haute Action Track is part of the “Sumar Classic” weekend. Practice begins at 6pm, with qualifying directly after.
