Former Gateway Dirt Nationals Winner Carpenter Enters Corn Harvest
Fenwick, MI - Mid-Michigan Raceway Park has announced that Tyler Carpenter will be on hand competing in Corn Harvest next weekend, September 25-26. The announcement came via the track’s Facebook page late Tuesday night.
Hailing out of Parkersburg, WV, “The Kamikaze Kid” is a two-time Gateway Dirt Nationals champion, doing so in back-to-back events in 2019 and 2021. He normally competes around his home region in West Virginia, Ohio, and Kentucky; but has made himself a legend inside The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, MO.
He recently won his first-career DIRTcar Summernationals race in the Hell Tour finale at Wayne County Speedway on July 12, his biggest touring series win to date. He also made his first-career World 100 start over the weekend, finishing 28th after winning his heat race earlier in the day to lock himself into the main event.
It will be the first appearance for Carpenter in the state of Michigan of his career. The closest he’s been to the Wolverine State was for a Hell Tour race at Plymouth Motor Speedway (IN) in 2020 when it was still a dirt track.
Mid Michigan Raceway Park closes out the season next weekend, September 25-26 with Corn Harvest. The track will be open Thursday for open practice before heat races are contested Friday night. All features and a full Lightning Sprint program will be run on Saturday night. Late Models, Pro Late Models, B Modifieds, Lightning Sprints, Street Stocks, Pro Stocks/Pro Trucks, 4-Cylinders, Bombers, and Mini Wedges will all be on hand for the season-ending show.
