MOUNT PLEASANT, MI - Multiple reports on Wednesday said that Michigan Motorsports Hall of Fame Class of 2008 inductee, Leo Pego, was hospitalized on Tuesday after a fall. Sources tell MARC News that Pego fell on Tuesday and was taken via ambulance to Hurley Medical Center in Flint.

Sources also say that Pego had extended exposure to the extreme cold that gripped Michigan on Tuesday and is being treated for frostbite.

In a post from Crystal Motor Speedway, one of Pego's home tracks, they say that precautionary evaluations of his knees and fingers were conducted, and that he is in good spirits.

The race track thanked fans for their support and concern. Mt. Pleasant Speedway also asked fans to keep Pego in their prayers.

This is a developing story and we'll have more information as it becomes available.
