Nearly 40 Cars Pre-Entered for Owosso Speedway Go for Broke 150

Ovid, MI - The richest pavement Modified event of the season is this weekend at Owosso Speedway in Ovid, Michigan. The Go for Broke 150 Powered by Lunghamer Ford brings in the best drivers from across the country, competing for a chance at over $14,000 in prize money if one driver can have a perfect weekend. Add in lap money, and the potential for an over $19,000 payday is on the line for this one weekend showdown. Plus, fans in the stands have a hand in setting the line-up for the 50-lap main event on Saturday night.

The Go for Broke 150 features three 50-lap features: two qualifying features and the main event, putting aside the traditional Qualifying, Last Chance Qualifier, A-Main format. On Friday night, teams will qualify against the entire field, with a $1,000 prize on the line to be the fast qualifier. Mini Wedges and a Modified Non-Qualifier Race are the only other events on the Friday night card. More than 48 cars would need to be on the grounds for a non-qualifier race.

On Saturday night, a pair of 50-lap features start the night with the Odd and Even features. The 24 fastest Odd qualifiers in one race, and the 24 fastest Even qualifiers in the other. The lineup will be a full invert from qualifying and award $2,500 to win. The top 12 finishers from each race transfer into the $10,500 to win main event. After the 24-car starting field is locked in, the fans help determine how the cars will roll from the grid.

The 24 transferring drivers will be placed into a random drawing for starting position. Owosso Speedway officials will walk through the crowd, allowing spectators to pull the driver’s names in order of their starting position. The first name drawn will start 24th, and the last name pulled will lead the field to the green flag.

As of Thursday morning, six states are represented among the nearly 40 drivers on the entry list. 

General Admission to Friday’s portion of the Go for Broke 150 at Owosso Speedway is free to attend. Advanced tickets for Saturday’s portion of the show are available online at OwossoSpeedway.com. Fans who can’t make the trip can catch the action live on TrackTV.com and RacingAmerica.TV.
