Wauseon, OH - Officials with Oakshade Raceway in Northwest Ohio have released the 2026 schedule of events. According to the website, the new season begins on Saturday, May 2nd, with the Bill Reckner Memorial, offering up $1,200 to win for a brand new division - Sportsman Mods.
The class is a combination of DIRTcar UMP Sportsman and DIRTcar UMP Modifieds. In years past, Oakshade has rarely seen the open-wheel counterpart of the UMP Late Models unless during the DIRTcar Summer Nationals Hell Tour, when the Late Models are almost always accompanied by the Summit Racing Equipment UMP Modifieds.
The combination class appears eight times on the calendar, and of those eight, they bump the DIRTcar UMP Late Models off the calendar six times. There are two shows where both UMP Late Models and the Sportsman Mods are on the calendar.
It remains unclear if the combination division will award Championship Points for Oakshade Raceway or if the UMP Sportsman and UMP Modifieds will receive any Regional or National UMP points. MARCNews.org has reached out to Oakshade Raceway for clarity on the situation.
We'll provide more details on this story as they become available.
The combination Sportsman Mods will race the following shows:
5/2 - Opening Night | Bill Reckner Memorial | $1,200/win
5/23 - $1,200/win
06/06 - $1,200/win
06/27 - $1,200/win + DIRTcar UMP Late Models
07/18 - $1,200/win
08/08 - $1,200/win + DIRTcar UMP Late Models
09/05 - $1,200/win
