Fast qualifier Daren Burton got to the front of the field from his 15th starting spot by lap nine, only to have to go pitside with a flat tire after contact on a restart.  The defending Champion of the Backroad Beaute’ Salon Sport Trucks rejoined the field at the tail, charged back through the field, and with 10 to go, passed Matt Wilcox to return to O’Reilly Auto Parts Victory Lane.  Trailing Burton and Wilcox were Greg Long Jr, Michael Dvorscak, and Ricky Gillett.

The Outlaw 350 SuperModified Sprint Series thrilled the fans in their first event on the four-tenths mile.  Keegan Weese led early until breaking four laps in.  Sawyer Stout, who made some daring moves to get to second, grabbed the lead four laps later from Frank Neill and would go on to claim the inaugural win for the Series.  Fast qualifier Danny Shirey had a great duel with JJ Henes to claim the runner-up spot, with Sam Stout and Cody Gallogly completing the top five.

The Limited Late Models were competing not only for the win, but for valuable points toward the Wilson & Son’s Septic Challenge Series.  Shawn Edmonds capitalized on the hard racing between Joe Hodgeson Jr and Bob Farley with five laps to go to pick up his first win of the 2026 season.  Hodgeson and Farley battled door to door for several laps, but with 5 to go entering turn one, the duo made slight contact.  As the two worked to gather their vehicles back under control, Edmonds dove low underneath the two to take away the lead and the eventual win.  Farley and Hodgeson managed to finish second and third, ahead of Austin Edmonds and Carter Noffsinger.

Mike Koepke led the first nine laps of the Stock Compact feature before Nicholas Murdock would use the outside groove to get around and win.  The 2024 Champion returned to victory lane ahead of Koepke, Rodney Nettleton, Gary Koepke, and Elizabeth Kolb.

In one of the weirdest races for the Finish Line Seamless Gutters Pure Stocks, Lonnie Saumier held off a late race charge from Talen Diehl to claim his second win of the season.  In a race that saw leaders break, get caught up with lapped cars and break, and a few cautions that slowed the race, Saumier survived an impending parts failure as the checkered flew to finish ahead of Diehl, Bill Livesay, Lexy Motsinger, and Abigail Kolb.

The Outlaw Figure 8s closed out the show, and Justin Pepitone bested the field to garner the win.  Anthony Richardson and Nicholas Cooper had a great battle for second, with Richardson coming out on top.  Finishing behind Cooper were Andrew Burton and Darby Christensen.

The racing action will resume on July 10th as the Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club will be on hand for race two of the Wilson & Son’s Challenge Series for the Limited Late Models, along with the Showcase Auto Sales Street Stocks, Finish Line Seamless Gutters Pure Stocks, and Outlaw Figure 8s in action.  Advance tickets can be purchased at www.birchrunevents.com
