Owosso, MI - The Fourth Annual Bob Finley Memorial is slated for Saturday, May 9th at Owosso Speedway, featuring Outlaw Super Late Models racing for a grand prize of at least $20,117 after lap money ($50/lap). Modifieds, All American Trucks, and Mini Wedges are also on the schedule for the first time as part of the Memorial event Saturday night.

The Bob Finley Memorial first came to be in the summer of 2023 and was originally scheduled to be held at Corrigan Oil Speedway in Mason, Michigan. However, an unfavorable weather forecast forced the cancellation of the race at Corrigan Oil Speedway, and suddenly the potential to host the race at Owosso Speedway in September of that year became a reality. Held as part of the Saturday night portion of the Owosso Nationals and sanctioned by Reveal the Hammer, 47 Outlaw Super Late Models unloaded for the Inaugural event.

Blake Childers and Steven Needles were the class of the 26 car starting field that night. Childers drove his No.10 machine from 13th to grab the win over Needles, who came from 18th to finish third. Chad Finley rounded out the podium that night. In fact, that top three represents the three different winners so far in the history of the event.

Moved to a Wednesday in 2024, the 2nd Annual Bob Finley Memorial drew in 38 cars from across Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Ontario, Canada. Childers looked to be on track to defend his win from a year prior after setting fast time, but the Flint, Michigan native came up two spots shy of the win, which went to Chad Finley, grandson of the race's namesake. In between Finley and Childers? Steve Needles. Again, the same three drivers responsible for the podium again in year two.

Childers was the fastest car on the property again in 2025 when the race was moved to October. Starting alongside Childers in the ninth spot, Steve Needles was the beneficiary of some misfortune for Chad Finley, who appeared to be the car to beat early in the race. A mechanical failure took Finley's No.1 car out of the race, leaving Needles to deal with Childers, Phil Bozell, and Canada's Jake Sheridan. Needles held on for the win over Childers, with Bozell replacing Finley in the historic top three positions.

Some of the best Outlaw Super Late Model drivers in the region have already pre-registered for Saturday's 4th Annual Bob Finley Memorial, including former winners Blake Childers, and Chad Finley. The Bozell clan is also pre-registered including last year's podium finisher, Phil Bozell, and 2025 Reveal the Hammer Rookie of the Year, Bryce Bozell. Fellow youngster, Chloe Mazzagatti is expected to make the trip from Ohio on Saturday. 2025 Owosso Speedway track champion, Dan Leeck is also returning for the Bob Finley Memorial on Saturday. Fellow Late Model veteran, Jason Felver is on the books alongside Finley teammate, Chase Rosebrugh. Canada already has a representative registered in the likes of Jay Palumbo.

An over $67,000 purse is up for grabs Saturday night, with an advertised winner's share of $20,067 and $1,067 to make the starting field. Those dollar amounts don't include lap money, which tacks on an extra $50/lap to the leader of the race thanks to a number of sponsors and donations. Meanwhile, Modifieds will race for $2,567 to win and $667 to start.
