Reveal The Hammer Championship To Be Decided Saturday
Marne, MI - The 2026 Reveal The Hammer championship will be decided Saturday, September 12 at Berlin Raceway. Three drivers enter the race with a real shot at the series championship Saturday night.
2023 Reveal The Hammer champion Mark Shook leads the standings by just 16 points over Zack Cook and 20 over Phil Bozell, the three drivers who still have a mathematical shot at the championship. All three drivers are still in search of their first victories of the season with the series along with the championship chase.
Shook has finished in the top-five three out of the four races, including a runner-up finish in the season opener at Kinross Raceway Park on May 30. He won the series title in 2023 after winning the opener at Birch Run that season and a run of consistency over the final four races. Before qualifying points are awarded Saturday, a seventh or better would clinch his second championship.
2024 series Rookie of the Year Zack Cook started the year off with back-to-back third place runs at Kinross and M-40 Speedway before adding a third top-five last time out in the Summer Sizzler at New Paris Speedway. He finished seventh in the first Berlin race on July 4.
Phil Bozell goes into this weekend as the defending winner of this event after winning last year’s season finale at Berlin. A runner-up at M40 and a third last race at New Paris have been his best finishes this season as he looks to avenge his runner-up points finish to Shook in 2023.
Along with the championship battle, a fierce battle awaits the Rookie of the Year race between a pair of teenagers. Recently-crowned Kalamazoo Speedway Late Model track champion Mason Metzger leads Chloe Mazzagatti by just four markers going into Saturday. A pair of top-tens in the last two races from Mazzagatti has brought her into a straight-up battle with Metzger, who has the best finish out of the two with a seventh at M40.
All four previous winners from the 2026 season are entered for Saturday’s race, including Steve Needles, who won at Berlin on July 4 in what’s been his only Reveal The Hammer start of the season so far. Jacob Maynard is coming off the biggest win of his career two weeks ago in the Summer Sizzler at New Paris, while Tyler Roahrig and Brian Bergakker both have multiple Reveal the Hammer victories at the Marne, MI oval.
