Senneker’s Storybook Return Nets Sixth Kzoo Klash Victory

Kalamazoo, MI - It had been ten years, but Terry Senneker found himself in a very familiar place at the end of Wednesday night – Kalamazoo Klash victory lane.
One year after seeing his all-time record for Klash victories matched by Tyler Roahrig, Senneker returned to the event for the first time in seven years and won the biggest Outlaw Super Late Model race in the country for the sixth time, retaking the all-time wins record in the process.
The victory comes from the misfortune of Roahrig, who had dominated the second half of the race and appeared well on his way to a sixth win of his own before he ran out of fuel inside of 15 laps to go. After running inside the top-five all race, Senneker inherited the lead and went on to win.
After seeing the No.24 fall off the pace, Senneker had one word to describe what was going through his head.
“Disbelief. It was hard to believe I was running second that late into the race,” Senneker said. “We get to lap 100 still running second, and not watching Tyler disappear into the distance was pure disbelief. I didn’t feel like we deserved it, but here we are.”
His first Klash win came back in 2008 after a late battle with Joe Bush while driving for Terry Gentry. He then ripped off four Klash wins in five years (2012-2014, 2016) to eclipse the all-time record held at the time by Andy Bozell. Wednesday night’s start was just his second Klash start since win number five in 2016.
Senneker drove a second Blake Childers-owned car for what was his first race in an Outlaw Super Late Model since that most recent Klash start in 2019. The team worked to get faster during the day and qualified sixth, starting fourth after the smallest invert seen at the Klash in recent memory.
“I kind of felt like we struggled through practice, but we got it dialed in for the race," said Senneker. "We were right there with Tyler, but he was a little bit better than us, it’s too bad he ran out of fuel. We had to have been close; a lot of restarts there at the end.”
“It’s unbelievable. It’s a testament to all of those who support us," Senneker finished.
2015 winner Jeff Ganus had his best finish since that win 11 years ago by finishing second ahead of 2023 winner Brian Bergakker. But the other big story inside the top-five is 15-year-old Chloe Mazzagatti becoming the youngest driver to finish inside the top-five at the Klash with a fourth-place run after starting 11th. Zack Cook finished fifth after leading a bunch of laps in the first half of the race.
Meanwhile, Raber’s Rumble wins continue to come in pairs as Brock Ganus wins the Street Stock crown jewel for the second straight year. He finished ahead of Colin Bozell, Austin Maynard, Ricky LaDuke and Logan Maynard. Tristan Crago won the B-Feature.
