Kalamazoo, MI - The 2026 season at Kalamazoo Speedway comes to a conclusion this Friday-Sunday, September 25-27 with Super Shoe XXXIX.  The traditional end of year event at the facility located just off US 131 Exit 44 brings drivers and fans from across the region together for three days of racing – and partying.

What once was one giant division during it’s early years now sees five divisions of racing over the weekend.  The Open V8 division is the classic Super Shoe division featuring every from Outlaw Super Late Models to Street Stocks to Flat Rock Speedway Figure-8 cars – with and without tops on.  The weekly Late Model and Street Stock divisions return to the card, as well as Crown Vics making their only appearance of the season at Kalamazoo.  The Open FWD division will see a huge field of cars during the weekend.

The action begins Friday night with two rounds of open practice from 5:30-9:05.  Saturday will see group qualifying, heat races and C, D, and E features for all divisions.  Sunday’s card will see B and A features for all divisions.

Group qualifying begins at 11 on Saturday, with racing starting at 6:15.  Sunday’s racing begins at 12:30.

Mark Shook is the defending Super Shoe Nationals champion, winning the Open V8 A-Feature for the second time last year.  Jerry Pierman (Late Models), Ricky LaDuke (Street Stocks), Jeff Stetler (Crown Vics), and Doug Gallandt (Open FWD) also won A features in 2025.
