Thunderbird Raceway Back on the Market; Still Plans to Race in 2026

It appears that Thunderbird Raceway has hit the market once again.

A listing of the property that includes the racetrack was made on the Commercial Alliance Of Realtors website on Tuesday, February 24. Screenshots of said listing began circulating around Facebook on Wednesday.

“Proven Turnkey Operation – Ready for New Ownership,” the listing read. “Thunderbird Raceway delivers consistent weekend revenue through a loyal fan base and diversified programming. The facility hosts 20–25+ Saturday night events per season (April–September), drawing 500–1,000 attendees per night and 130–140 competing vehicles across seven classes from youth Mini Wedges to high-horsepower Super Late Models and IMCA Modifieds.”

A statement was released on the Thunderbird Raceway Facebook page after the listing made public, where full intentions on running the 2026 season as planned was announced.

“Please stop jumping to conclusions & assuming. WE ARE RUNNING THE 2026 SEASON REGARDLESS,” the statement read. “Yes, it is for sale, yes we are in default even though we tried to make payments and they were refused, yes we have at least a six month redemption period, and yes, we have possession of the track. Anything else is privileged information and with our lawyers. Thank you.

Opening night for the 2026 season at Thunderbird Raceway is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, though the full season schedule has yet to be announced. Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Pro Late Models, Street Stocks, Sport Compacts, Super Troopers, and Mini Wedges are the scheduled weekly divisions for this season.
