Springport, MI - On April 24th, it was announced that Donnie ritter and Dave Miller had purchased Springport Mid-Michigan Speedway, with plans to reopen the facility and bring regularly scheduled racing back to the area. At the end of the post announcing the purchase of the track, it told fans to stay tuned for details on racing in 2026 and 2027. On Sunday morning, some new details were released for the 2026 season.
Michigan Cup 37 is slated for the first weekend in October. The dates are October 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. In years past, the event has featured "ABC" style racing for Rear Wheel Drive and Front Wheel Drive divisions. Cars qualify at the start of the weekend and are placed with similarly timed cars in their division. Last year, however, the divisions were split more by style than speed, with racing for Modifieds, Template & Limited Late Models, Street Stocks, and Front Wheel Drives. Mini Wedges were also on the card in 2025.
Format, tickets, gate times, and more have yet to be announced for Michigan Cup 37, but excitement is building for the return of racing to Springport Mid-Michigan Speedway. Fans are encouraged to follow Springport Mid-Michigan Speedway on Facebook for more information.
