Rothbury, MI - Officials with Winston Speedway have announced their "local" division for the 2026 season. The track, which is coming back into operation since closing in 2023, had already announced a tentative 2026 schedule that noted when the local divisions will be in action, however, the details of the divisions had yet to be announced.
According to rules posted on the Winston Speedway website, "Michigan" Super Late Models will highlight the regular rotation. A quick scan of the Super Late Model rule book shows that teams will be required to run the American Racer Pro3 AR56 with the MARW stamp, with compound restrictions of NMLT3 and NMLT4.
Pro Late Model rules have also been posted and the link opens to the 2026 Pro Late Model Rules for Thunderbird Raceway, suggesting a rule alliance between the two tracks. Pro Late Model teams will also be on the American Racer AR56 and AR Pro 3 with MARW stamp.
The rule book also shows rules for Modifieds. According to the link, Modifieds at Winston Speedway will run the IMCA Rule Book in 2026. It's not currently clear if teams will earn national IMCA points for shows at Winston.
Rules are also posted for Street Stocks and Warriors on the website alongside a 2026 General Rule Book. Cyber Stocks are listed and referenced in the Warriors' rule book, but a rule book for the division is not listed.
Highlights to the 2026 schedule include visits from the Great Lakes Super Sprints, Great Lakes Traditional Sprints, National Compact Touring Series, and High School Racing Association. Plus specials for local divisions throughout the year.
