The series brings together two iconic Michigan short tracks in a collaborative effort designed to elevate Modified competition across the region, featuring three events at Owosso Speedway and two at Berlin Raceway. Representatives from both tracks agree that Modified racing is among the leaders for the most exciting on-track racing experience that Michigan has to offer race fans.

Competition Format & Rules

The Michigan Modified Series format emphasizes competitive racing and fair opportunity for all entrants. Feature races will be set by the 24 fastest qualifiers, with a maximum of two provisional starters per event. Both tracks will run single car qualifying, and a -1 point bonus (see below for additional details) will be awarded in the championship standings for the Fast Qualifier (FQ) at each event.

Inversion procedures will include a 6-16-car inversion. A numbered chip will be drawn by the fastest qualifier of the night, setting each event's inversion. Both tracks will utilize Owosso Speedway’s modified division rule package and follow Owosso Speedway’s normal race procedures for all events.

Tires: Hoosier tires will be used at all events and will be supplied by Owosso Speedway and sold at Berlin Raceway for their event dates.

Tech Inspection: At Owosso Speedway, technical inspection will be provided by Owosso’s normal tech inspectors. At Berlin Raceway, a combination of Owosso Speedway and Berlin Raceway personnel will conduct tech inspections.

Points & Championship

Drivers will earn points based on finishing position, with 1 point for the winner, 2 points for second, 3 points for third, and so on. The champion will be the driver with the lowest cumulative point total after all five races. In the case of a tie, the championship will be awarded to the highest-placing driver in the final race of the series. As stated above, a -1 point reward for the fastest qualifier will be awarded at each event.

To be eligible for the series championship and points fund payout, competitors must attempt all five races.
