New Smyrna Beach, FL - Tuesday night after the ASA STARS National Tour season opening Clyde Hart Memorial, Tour Type Modifieds and Pro Late Models each took the track for their respective 60-lap features.

Tour Type Modifieds took the track first and Ryan Preece took control of the race early from the front row. Preece led from the drop of the green flag and took a dominant win over Patrick Emerling and Jimmy Blewett.

The nightcap featured the Pro Late Models, who have had a rough and tumble week at the World Series. Vito Cancilla led the field to green but fell back early to around 4th place. With eight laps to go, Connor Jones and Brody Monahan were racing hard for the potential win. Going into turn three, Jones made contact with Monahan, spinning him from the lead. Both cars were sent to the tail, handing the lead over to Raphael Lessard with Jimmy Renfrew, Jr in second. On the restart, Lessard took the lead, and Renfrew and Cancilla took to battle. Renfrew ran Cancilla up the hill in turns one and two before spinning the tires at the exit of turn two. Cancilla gets into his bumper and turns him into the backstretch wall.

Renfrew took exception to the situation and retaliated with heavy contact to Cancilla's left rear under the caution flag. Cancilla was able to continue, Renfrew was done for the night.

Saving Cancilla from going to the back of the field was that the caution was already coming out for a spun Cole Robie in turn one.

On the restart, Lessard encountered an issue and fell out of the race, handing things over to Cancilla. The final five laps were mostly uneventful as Cancilla rolled to the win ahead of Wisconsin's Jayden Johnson and Canada's Josh Stade. The win is Concilla's first career victory at the World Series.

"In my eyes, it can always be different," Cancilla said in Victory Lane. "I have nothing against [Renfrew] really, he's an amazing driver. I felt like we went a little wide, and it was just bad timing. Really great driver - just brake and gas, they don't mix. So, really sad to end his night that way, but we have a great car, so that's the good side of it. We're fast, and we're here, so hopefully get it fixed up and be even faster."
