Championship Points Battles Tighten at Butler Motor Speedway

Quincy, MI - With just five weeks remaining in the season, a pair of championship points battles at Butler Motor Speedway are close and are expected to go down to the wire as the season comes to a close. The MAGALift DIRTcar UMP Modifeds and Elite General Contracting Street Stocks are the closest battles with just five weeks remaining.

Before the 2025 season began, Bevard told fans that it would be his last season of full-time competition during the Horsepower Happenings podcast. Fast forward to 2026, and now the 2025 Modified Champion is looking to defend his title in 2026. As of August 8th, Bevard holds just a 10-point advantage over Robby Henderson.

Bevard's Championship points lead is built on consistency this season. The Huntington, Indiana driver is one of four racers to make only one trip to Butler Motor Speedway victory lane in the nine features held this season. At the other races, though, Bevard has finished inside the top 10 eight times, and the top five six times.

His competition, Robby Henderson, joins Dillon Nusbaum as the only two drivers with multiple wins at Butler this season. Henderson's most recent win came during the last race at Butler on August 8th. In his last nine features, Henderson has seven top 10s and four top five finishes.

Terry Sroufe sits 53 points back of the points lead ahead of Manix Furqueron, who trails by 64, and Garrett Rons, who rides fifth, back 112 points. The DIRTcar UMP Modifieds are back in action this weekend alongside the All-Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Cars. They'll be in action for the next five weeks, including Championship Night on Saturday, September 19th.

For the Elite General Contracting Street Stocks, a pair of drivers are looking for their first Butler Motor Speedway track championship. Clark Lake, Michigan driver, Deuane Morley holds just a six point lead over Jonesville, Michigan native, Jordon Hadley. Unlike the Modified division, the top two aren't completely alone in this battle. Tavvin Kyle sits just 32 points back with five weeks remaining.

Similar to the Modifieds, though, Hadley, who trails in the Championship standings, has more wins than points leader, Morley. The Street Stocks have also run nine features this season, and both Morley and Hadley have eight top-10 finishes and sevent top fives. Hadley, however, just recently grabbed his first career feature win back on July 11th.

Morley holds the points lead thanks to slightly better finishes inside the top five and top 10, respectively. Both Morley and Hadley have shared one poor performance this season, with Morley getting credit for 16th the night that Hadley won; while Hadley finished 14th in the most recent race on August 8th.

In the other two local divisions at Butler, Dan McCarron holds a 96-point lead over former track champion, Josh Turner in the Pell's Tire Serivce 410 Sprint Cars, and Cory Gumm sits 38 points ahead of Chad Minnix in the Oriole Automotive 4-Cylinder division.
