Waverly, OH - It doesn't happen often, but Cole Duncan did it Saturday at Atomic Speedway with the FAST On Dirt sprint car series. The Circleville, Ohio driver scored the perfect night by quick-timing his heat race group, then winning his heat from fourth starting spot and going on to win the 30 lap main event.

The evening began with 25 winged sprint cars in the pit area. West Jefferson, Ohio's Kory Crabtree set overall quick time in qualifying to lead group 1 with an 11.620 second lap. Duncan and Danny Sams III also quick timed their groups. Heat race action saw Ricky Peterson win heat one with Duncan and Sams winning their heats from the fourth starting spots. The B-Main event was taken by Mitch Harble, who encountered mechanical issues in his heat race.

The stage was set with multi-time track champion and 2019 FAST tour champion, Cole Duncan on the pole and national touring driver, Danny Sams III from North Port, Florida on the outside. Kory Crabtree, fresh off a Friday night Gladiator Sprint Tour win at Ohio Valley Speedway, would start third with defending tour champion Ricky Peterson rolling off fourth.

Sams would get to the lead on the initial start, but it didn't take long for Duncan to find his way to the point. Unfortunately, several yellow and 2 red flags would slow this event. With Duncan leading and Sams running second, on a restart, Sams got into the outside wall off turn 4, relegating him back to fourth. It was now Ricky Peterson in the runner-up spot and closing on Duncan.

While trying to get back to the lead battle, Sams got into the wall again in turn 4, flattening his right front tire, retiring him from the event. The two red flags were for North Carolina's Brianna Lawson who got clipped, sending her into the turn one wall and rolling over and for Rayce Jacobs who got into the turn 4 wall and flipped while running sixth.

Some charges through the field were put on by Helms Construction "Hard Charger" of the night, Bryan Nuckles who advanced 12 spots. Very impressive drives also by Mitch Harble (up 10), Jacob Begenwald (up 9), Tyler Esh (up 8, Jacob Stickle (up 8, Danny Smith (up 6), and Josh Davis, who went to the tail and charged back up to finish 7th.

In the end, following Duncan to the finish were Ricky Peterson, Bryan Nuckles, Danny Smith and 2020 FAST champion, Tyler Gunn. Rounding out the top 10 were Mitch Harble, Josh Davis, Jacob Begenwald, Keith Baxter and Tyler Esh.
