Great Lakes Traditional Sprints Announces 2026 Schedule

Merrill, MI - Officials with the Great Lakes Traditional Sprints Presented by MacAllister CAT Rental (GLTS) announced the details of the 2026 schedule on Sunday. With the schedule, information was also announced about a new Short Track Challenge within the full GLTS calendar.


The GLTS begin the 2026 season with a trip to a new facility, Montpelier Motor Speedway. The track in northern Indiana is slated to host the Great Lakes Super Sprints just three weeks prior, with GLTS headlining the show on Saturday, May 9th. Six days later, GLTS heads for I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan for a co-sanctioned show with the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS). A doubleheader highlights the calendar on May 15th at Hartford Speedway and Saturday, May 16th at Butler Motor Speedway. The month of May concludes on Friday, May 29th at Limaland Motorsports Park.


Winston Speedway makes their first appearance on the schedule on Saturday, June 13th with a return to Limaland on Friday, June 19th. Hartford Speedway is on the card for Friday, July 3rd with Silver Bullet Speedway hosting the first Short Track Challenge race of the year on Saturday, July 4th. It's back to Winston Speedway on Saturday, July 18th and Friday, July 24th takes GLTS back to Limaland.



Winston helps GLTS open up August on Saturday, August 8th, before another doubleheader weekend, this time at Millstream Speedway on Friday and Saturday, August 14th and 15th. The regular tour championship is slated for Friday, August 28th at I-96 Speedway before a pair of Short Track Challenge shows on Friday, August 29th, and Saturday, September 5th.


Still missing from the announced GLTS schedule are key tracks like Merritt Speedway and Mt. Pleasant Speedway. It's expected that additional Short Track Challenge shows will be added at those locations before the beginning of the season.


The Short Track Challenge is presented as a more affordable show to the race tracks, and intended primarily for the teams in Michigan who aren't looking to travel outside of their market. A smaller purse will be awarded at the Short Track Challenge events.


More details on the Short Track Challenge shows and a more dates are expected to be announced soon.
