Jonesville, MI - It's been a bit of a slow start to the 2026 season with Mother Nature's interference on race weekends. Nonetheless, we're keeping track of who is racing and who is winning in Michigan this season with the Power Rankings. The Winged Sprint Car Power Rankings Presented by Midwest Camper Repair, the Dirt Late Model Power Rankings Presented by Competition X Sports, the Asphalt Modified Power Rankings Presented by Howe Racing Enterprises (N/A), the Template Late Model Power Rankings (partner open), and the Outlaw Super Late Model Power Rankings (partner open).

How it works: Drivers who finish inside the top five that night will receive base points. 10 points for 1st, 6 points for 5th. This will be true for every race held that week/weekend in that division. Then, the "experts" will examine the results and see if anyone may have earned any bonus points based on their performance. If they did, the panel member can throw them two bonus points for the week.

The Winged Sprint Car Power Rankings get their first entry of the season thanks to the Great Lakes Super Sprints event on Saturday, April 25th at Crystal Motor Speedway. Zane DeVault broke the track record in Qualifying before winning his Heat Race and taking the Feature. Committee members gave DeVault a pair of bonus points for his performance on Saturday. Ryan Ruhl also earned two bonus points to make the first Top 10 of the season after going from 13th to 18th by spinning early in the feature, and then climbing back to 7th for the checkered flag.

The Template Late Model realm saw their first laps over the weekend as well thanks to Berlin Raceway's season-opening Icebreaker. Austin Hull had an outstanding afternoon, qualifying second quick and, thanks to the invert, coming from the 11th starting spot to grab the win and Hard Charger. Two committee members awarded him bonus points for his performance, and Andrew Scheid was awarded bonus points for his climb through the field to finish third after setting fast time.

It was an off weekend for the Dirt Super Late Models with rain in and around Michigan and Sprint Cars occupying Crystal Motor Speedway on Saturday. However, Crystal's season opener helped get things started at the beginning of the month.

Similarly, the Outlaw Super Late Models had the week off after Kalamazoo Speedway's Intimidator 100 blew the doors off the 2026 season last week.

Right now, things look bleak to add more results to the power rankings for all the divisions. Asphalt Modifieds are already off the table for this weekend with Owosso and Birch Run Speedways pulling the plug on their events. Tri City Motor Speedway and Crystal Motor Speedway have backed out on their planned events for this weekend, leaving only Mid Michigan Raceway Park to contribute to Dirt Late Model Power Rankings.

Berlin Raceway is still a go for the Reveal the Hammer Outlaw Super Late Models on Saturday afternoon. With a 4:00 PM start time, we anticipate that event will get in. Likewise, Outlaws are on the schedule Saturday at Flat Rock Speedway, which also shares a 4:00 PM start time.
