Mt. Pleasant Speedway Announces Date for 5th Annual Katie Hutson Late Model Show

MOUNT PLEASANT, MI - Officials with Mt. Pleasant Speedway in Mount Pleasant, Michigan have announced the date for the 2026 Katie Hutson Late Model Show. Scheduled for Friday, September 4th, the lone Late Model show at Mt. Pleasant Speedway falls on Labor Day Friday.

In years passed, the Katie Hutson Late Model Show has been hosted on or around the third Friday of the month, with the first show on Friday, September 16th in 2022, Saturday, September 23rd in 2023, Friday, September 20th in 2024, and Friday, September 19th in 2025. According to social media comments from event promoter, Katie Hutson-Yost, the decision to move the race forward was due in part to the calendar.

"We have spent hours figuring it all out," Yost said. "It's been a difficult decision on a date because we lose a Friday in September." Although September does have four Fridays in the month, many tracks and schedules feel tilted this season after a 2025 campaign that saw Labor Day fall on exactly the 1st of September, resulting in this year's Labor Day Monday being a full week later.

Support divisions were also announced for the 5th Annual Katie Hutson Late Model Show, including IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, and Run-What-Ya-Brung Pro Stocks. The post went on to say that a rain date would likely fall on the first weekend of October, but that has not been confirmed.
