Corunna, MI - The Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club hosted their charity bowling tournament once again on Saturday afternoon in support of their benevolent fund. A nine-pin no-tap
tournament awaited nearly 90 bowlers at Riverbend Bowl in Corunna, MI.
The event was put on by Owosso Speedway Modified racer Dale Spencer alongside the
MARFC. Horsepower Happenings was also on hand broadcasting live from the event,
featuring personalities from multiple facets of the Michigan racing community.
A total of $6,444 was raised for the fund, part of which was donated to two members of
the racing community. The Casaday family and photographer Michael “Woody” Wood
each received $2,000 to go towards their respective needs.
“The fund is so important and because of this fund we are able to help them out,” said
MARFC President John Jackson. “We couldn’t do this without the support of the racing
community because that’s what it takes to make this happen.”
Multiple 300s were thrown throughout the tournament, prizes were given out, and
trophies were given out at the end of the day to the top bowlers of the tournament. The
winners are as follows.
Men’s High Series: Dale Spencer (854)
Women’s High Series: Hannah Hurst (727)
Youth High Series: Jayden Somers (742)
Doubles High Series: Dale Spencer/Jayden Somers (1,596)
Tuff Luck Award (Low Score): Brody Hart (101).
