Plymouth, IN - Officials with Plymouth Speedway in Plymouth, Indiana announced on Tuesday that the track was suspending the Outlaw Super Late Model division for the race scheduled for Friday, May 22nd.
According to a post on Facebook, officials feel that fans would not be treated to a quality show on Friday night due to recent events within the division. The track says "gnarly wrecks" in the division would likely keep the field from being satisfactory to the fans.
Last Friday, just 11 cars unloaded for the Grand Slam season opener that included former NASCAR driver and current media sensation, Kenny Wallace. A crash with just over 10 laps to go collected Wallace and four other cars and concluded with Rick Hahn, Jr rolling over. Just four drivers finished the 75 lap event that was won by Mark Shook.
Friday's program at Plymouth Speedway includes 350 Supermodifieds, Street Stocks, Hornets, Four Cylinders, and Factory Fords. Racing begins at 7:30 PM.
