Racing Returns to Springport Mid-Michigan Speedway For Michigan Cup

Springport Mid-Michigan Speedway roars back to life for the first and only time in 2026 this weekend for Michigan Cup XXVII. Three days of on-track action bring racing back to the 3/8ths mile for the first time since last year’s Michigan Cup.
The 2026 edition of Michigan Cup is the first event under the ownership of Donnie Ritter and Dave Miller. A long-time promoter of Springport, Ritter joined forces with Miller to buy the racetrack earlier this year.
Six divisions will be on hand for this weekend’s event, highlighted by Modifieds and Late Model Sportsman. Street Stocks and Port Stocks also join the card as weekly divisions in years past, while Limited Late Models return to Michigan Cup for the third year and Crown Vics make their first-ever appearance at Springport.

Similar to this year, Michigan Cup was the only event held on the big track in 2025, the last event held under former ownership. Brian Bergakker (Modifieds), Brent Jack (LM Sportsman), Jerry Osterhouse (Limited LM), Ricky LaDuke (Street Stocks), and Will Slaughter (Port Stocks) all won A-Features one year ago.
On-track activities start on Friday with group qualifying for all divisions from 5:30-9:00. Qualifying continues Saturday from 10:30-3:30 before racing starts at 6:00 with heat races and Port Stock C, D and E features. Sunday’s racing begins at 1:00 with B and A Features for all divisions.
