Severe Storms Postpone Lernerville's Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup to Wednesday, July 22

SARVER, PENN. (July 21, 2022) - Originally scheduled for Tuesday, July 21, the 35th Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup has been pushed back 24 hours to run on Wednesday, July 22 at Lernerville Speedway.


Track and series officials agreed to make the call with severe storms including damaging winds, flash flooding, and the potential for isolated tornadoes sweeping through the Pittsburgh area and into the vicinity on Tuesday afternoon.


Postponed to Wednesday, Silver Cup XXXV will now serve as the first of five consecutive events for Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing. What's to follow is another Roto-Rooter Midweek Series event at Ransonville (NY) Speedway on Thursday, the series' debut at Stateline (NY) Speedway on Friday, the $15,000-to-win Greg Hodnett Classic at Port Royal (PA) Speedway on Saturday, and the $100,000-to-win Bob Weikert Memorial at Port Royal on Sunday.


Lernerville's Wednesday night show marks the 10th Roto-Rooter Midweek Series event of the season. Entering the race, Brent Marks leads the chase for the $25,000 mini-series title ahead of Rico Abreu (-19), Aaron Reutzel (-27), Giovanni Scelzi (-33), and Justin Peck (-47).
