Storylines Going Into Wednesday’s Kalamazoo Klash

The biggest Outlaw Super Late Model race in the country returns on Wednesday with Kalamazoo Klash XXXIV at Kalamazoo Speedway. Let’s take a look at some of the storylines entering this year’s Klash.
“Skinny” Makes His Return
A bombshell was dropped early Monday afternoon when it was announced that five-time Kalamazoo Klash champion Terry Senneker entered the race. He tested a Blake Childers-owned car last week and is now set to make his return to the Klash for the first time since 2019, when he finished 21st after getting collected in an early incident.
All-Time Wins Record On The Line
Tyler Roahrig joined Senneker in the five win club last year after a late-race pass. Now he and Senneker both look to hold the all-time Klash wins record for themselves Wednesday with a sixth win.
Bozell Family Bringing Four Cars
Four members of the Bozell family are entered for the Klash spanning three generations. “12-Time” and inaugural Klash champion Andy Bozell enters his first race of the year in a second Tony LeClair-owned car as he looks to continue his streak of competing in every single Kalamazoo Klash.
Phil Bozell makes his 28th appearance in the Klash, a race he’s won twice in 2011 and 2022. Son Bryce returns for a second year after finishing 10th in 2025, while current Late Model points leader Mason Metzger makes his Klash debut in grandpa’s No.83 at 14 years old.
Other Former Winners Entered
A total of 21 Kalamazoo Klash champions are represented in this year’s field. Joining Senneker (2008, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016), Roahrig (2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2025), and Andy (1993, 1994, 1997, 2007) and Phil Bozell (2011, 2022) are Steve Needles (2009, 2020, 2024), Jeff Ganus (2015), and Brian Bergakker (2023). Needles has been piloting a Todd Rosebrugh-owned machine in 2026, while Ganus jumps into the Bobby Blount No.16. Bergakker is coming off a win in the Modified at the Hot Shoe 100 last weekend.
Terry Seeking Redemption
Adam Terry has redemption on his mind after losing the lead with 26 laps to go in last year’s race. He’s finished second twice in the race and is a two-time Intimidator 100 winner, but he still looks for his first Klash win.
“Shooky” Seeking First Marquee Kzoo Outlaw SLM Win
Two-time Kalamazoo Speedway track champion Mark Shook is still looking for his first win in either of Kalamazoo major Outlaw Super Late Model races (Intimidator 100, Klash). He won on Klash night last year in the Template Late Model race, now the Reveal The Hammer points leader turns his focus to the main event.
Mazzagatti Makes Second Klash Appearance
History was made last year when Chloe Mazzagatti not only became the first female driver to start the Klash, she also became the youngest driver to ever start the race at 14 years, 2 days old. Now with last year’s race under her belt, she’s had this race circled on her calendar since the 2026 date was announced.
Crump Enters Klash With Winning Combination
Kyle Crump won the ASA/CRA Super Series race at Kalamazoo in 2019 in the Stan and Judi Rosen No.131. Seven years later, the Rosen’s have gone Outlaw SLM racing with Crump as the 2025 Summer Sizzler winner makes his fourth appearance in the Klash.
Owosso Dominator Is Klash Bound
Blake Childers has won all three Owosso 500 Series races contested in 2026 at Owosso Speedway, which included a $20,000+ payday back in May. He is attempting to become the first driver from the east side of the state (and only the second from outside West Michigan) to win the Klash.
27 Cars Entered For Klash
As it stands right now, 28 drivers have officially entered the Kalamazoo Klash, which would mark the biggest field at the race since 2021 when 28 cars showed up on race day. Entries are open until raceday, so 30+ cars in attendance on Wednesday is not out of the question.
Street Stocks Rumbling In Honor Of Ben Raber
After being contested on Labor Day weekend last year, the Raber’s Rumble returns to the Kalamazoo Klash card as the only support division for this year’s event. Over 40 cars are entered for one of the marquee Street Stock races in the area, including all former Raber’s Rumble winners Brock Ganus, Colin Bozell, Ricky LaDuke, and Bubba Brooks, current Kalamazoo points leader Jeffrey Town, and defending track champion Kyle Ribble. Jeff Ganus will be pulling double duty with the Street Stock and the Outlaw on Wednesday.
