Pendleton, IN - One of Indiana's proving grounds for open-wheel racing has long been the United States Speed Association (USSA) Kenyon Midget Series. An affordable, high-energy, intense competition-bringing sanction that often propels drivers into the next level of racing. Fans and drivers alike turn their attention to the 2026 campaign, which features 13 races at eight different tracks in three states.
In 2025, six drivers made their way to victory lane during the 13-race calendar. Dameron Taylor was a problem for the rest of the field. The now-four-time USSA Champion strung together a season that included 12 top 10 finishes, 11 top fives, and five wins, including back-to-back wins at Sportsdrome Speedway/Anderson Speedway and again at Owosso Speedway/Anderson Speedway. Taylor's other win came at Anderson during the Don & Mel Kenyon Classic, a 75-lap affair.
Other winners in 2025 included Championship Standings' runner-up, Evan Hammond, who found victory lane at Sportsdrome Speedway in August, third-place finisher Issac Johnson, who won back-to-back shows at Indianapolis Speedrome and Paragon Speedway. Ayrton Houk mastered Berlin Raceway, Landon Brown was a three-time winner from Kalamazoo, Salem, and Anderson, and Kyle Sheard closed the season a winner at Anderson in October.
The 2026 schedule brings in familiar tracks that Kenyon Midget teams have come to know. The season begins on Saturday, April 18th with the Dick Jordan Classic at Anderson Speedway alongside the yourbigplans.com 500 Sprint Car Tour. The following week, Indianapolis Speedrome welcomes teams for another challenging night at the races on April 25th.
On Saturday, May 9th, the Series heads for the dirt track representative for the 2026 season, Lincoln Park Speedway in Greencastle, IN. This marks the first appearance of the Kenyon Midgets to Lincoln Park and the only race on the calendar in May.
On Sunday, June 14th, the Kenyon Midgets team up with the 500 Sprint Car Tour again at Toledo Speedway. The 500 Tour will race on the historic half-mile, while the Kenyon Midgets will go wheel-to-wheel on the 1/4 mile. June concludes on Saturday, June 20th at Anderson Speedway. A lone event in July takes the Series back to the Indianapolis Speedrome.

August is a busy month as the Kenyon teams look toward a championship. On Saturday, August 1st, the Series rolls into Owosso Speedway in Owosso, MI with the 500 Sprint Car Tour. Two weeks later, it's off to the Salem Speedway with the 500 Tour. Like Toledo, the 500 Tour will be on the half-mile, while the Kenyon Series keeps the 1/4-mile warm. The second and final visit to Lincoln Park Speedway is on Saturday, August 22nd, and the final stop in August is Friday, August 28th at Berlin Raceway.
Labor Day weekend takes USSA to the Indianapolis Speedrome on Saturday, September 5th. Then off to Sportsdrome Speedway on Friday, September 18th, and the season comes to a close on Saturday, September 26th, with the Kenyon Classic.
"I am looking forward to what may end up being the biggest season yet for the Kenyon Midget Series," said Series Director, Brad Hayes. "We have many of last year's championship competitors back, plus several new racers moving up from karts and quarter midgets. Through our partnership with the 500 Sprint Car Tour, we are set to hit many of the best tracks in the Midwest."
