Hicksville, OH - Second-generation driver, Avery Demland, turns her attention to the IHRA Stock Car Series in 2026 with an opportunity to start fresh with a thrilling new sanctioning body in the United States. The 2025 Rookie of the Year runner-up with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour has been building experience, confidence, and knowledge of the Late Model scene as a driver after turning in the headset at the end of 2024.
Daughter of former driver Brian Demland, the One Five Motorsports team has always been a family affair. When Brian was behind the wheel, Avery was helping turn wrenches, mount tires, and served as his spotter. At the end of the 2024 season, Avery began testing her driving skills behind the wheel of the No.15, and in 2025 she made her Late Model debut during the Pro Late Model portion of Speedfest at Cordele Motor Speedway. In her first start, Demland moved up 10 spots coming home 16th.

The 2025 season was a big season of growth for Demland as a driver. A near top 10 finish at Anderson Speedway in May was followed up by an eighth place finish at Whittemore Speedway in July, and a 7th place finish at Auto City Speedway in September. Demland closed out the regular season with CRA by finishing 10th in the Winchester 100 at Winchester Speedway. In her first season, the Ohio Northern Pettit College of Law graduate finished 4th in CRA Pro Series standings.
The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) announced a pair of new Stock Car series in November of 2025 - a Late Model Stock division and a Pro Late Model divisions. The series touts an impressive purse, offering an $80K purse for a standard Pro Late Model show. The breakdown is $8,000 to win and $1,750 to start with a Championship payout to the top 10 that totals $70K.
“2025 was a great learning year,” Demland recalled. “I want to keep building on the momentum from that. I like the idea of going back to old school racing with more control in the driver’s hands.”
The 2026 season for the IHRA Stock Cars begins on Saturday, March 21st at Pulaski Motorsports Park in Virginia before going to Cordele Speedway in Georgia on April 18th. Newport Speedway welcomes IHRA on May 30th, ahead of Anderson Motor Speedway in South Carolina on June 27th. A return to Pulaski awaits on July 25th before Darana–Memphis Motorsports Park on August 22nd (originally scheduled as Salem Speedway). Newport Speedway on September 26th serves as the penultimate event, with the finale on October 17th originally scheduled at Memphis Motorsports Park, now slated for Rockingham Speedway.
Demland’s midwest fans can rest assured that they’ll still see her No.15 on the local scene when the IHRA schedule allows.
“I love CRA and the people associated with it,” Demland said. “We plan to run the full schedule of IHRA and as many CRA races as we can. I’m looking to go back to Winchester and Nashville, and we’re considering [Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park] if we can make it happen.”
