Race For The Million Begins Friday at Five Flags

Pensacola, FL - A new era of pavement Winged Sprint Car racing begins Friday night, April 10 with the inaugural Race For The Million event at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, FL. A $40,000 payday awaits the winner of Friday night’s feature.
Over 50 drivers from all over the United States and Canada are entered for Friday night’s opener at the home of the Snowball Derby. Eight-time USAC Silver Crown champion Kody Swanson leads the way in “Seabiscuit”, owned by Michigan’s Dick Myers. The California native has won the last two Open Wheel Showdowns at the Bullring at Las Vegas and is a two-time Little 500 champion.

British Columbia’s Aaron Willison won the inaugural Open Wheel Showdown at Las Vegas in 2023, and now sets his sights on the inaugural Race For The Million. Bobby Santos III heads to Five Flags having won the Must See Racing Xtreme Sprints race there in October.
Series champions galore will be on hand, including Joe Ligouri (Must See), Jeff Montgomery (Northwest Speed Tour), and Colton Bettis (Southern Sprint Car Shootout Series). Reigning 500 Sprint Car Tour champion Dakoda Armstrong puts the wing on for the first time this weekend.
Defending Little 500 champion Jake Trainor puts on the wing for his first Five Flags Speedway appearance alongside Pink Lady Classic winner Eric Humphries. Other top names include JoJo Helberg, Aaron Pierce, Jimmy McCune, Troy DeCaire, CJ Leary, Davey Hamilton Jr., Ryan Litt, and Bryan Warf.
A pair of Michigan drivers will be in attendance – Jason Blonde and Teddy Alberts.
Race For The Million was started by Richard Feiler to showcase pavement Winged Sprint Car racing with big money on the line. The four race series will pay out $1 million between races at Five Flags, Owosso Speedway, Berlin Raceway, and Colorado National Speedway and a points fund.
