Stevensville, MI - More information was released regarding an accident that sent a West Michigan youth racer to the hospital on Sunday. According to information posted on a GoFundMe page, 16-year-old Parker McKinney was injured after he was run over by a pick-up truck near his home in Stevensville, Michigan. The post says that McKinney was being pulled by the truck in the snow when he came around the side of the truck unbeknownst to the driver, who had stopped the vehicle. According to the post, as the truck pulled away, McKinney fell under the vehicle and suffered serious injuries, including collapsed lungs, brain bleeds, multiple fractures, and a broken collarbone.

The GoFundMe was set up by a family member who says his recovery will take months of intensive care, noting the financial support is for common bills while the family focuses on McKinney's immediate needs.

The Hartford Motor Speedway racing community is holding a young racer in their prayers this week after he was injured in a non-racing accident this week. According to a post on the Hartford Motor Speedway Facebook Page, Parker McKinney, 16, was in what was described as a "serious car accident". According to the post, McKinney is currently being treated at Corewell Health Helen DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids.

A follow-up post from the P3 Racing Facebook Page says that McKinney is fully sedated and on a ventilator. The team thanked the racing community for the love and support, saying they're still asking for "good vibes and prayers.

This is a developing story. We'll post updates as they become available.
